Bookings are now open for World Science Festival Brisbane’s 2023 School Program, returning from Wednesday 22 March to Friday 24 March 2023.

Educators can select from a smorgasbord of sessions that explore the scientific wonder of our everyday world—from chemical transformations, mathematical magic and the robotics domain to biology, biodiversity and conservation up close. Download the 2023 School Program to explore the full schedule of free and ticketed events.

With programming for students from prep to Year 12, the 2023 highlights include:

🦕 Erth’s Prehistoric Picnic – this puppetry-based theatrical production sends audiences to the wilderness of a distant era. Meet the ancient creatures that are remembered in the stories of our nation’s first people.
🐛 Insect Investigators: Uncovering Australia’s Biodiversity – a powerful new national citizen science initiative, where scientists and regional schools have joined forces to record Australia’s amazing insect biodiversity.
👩‍🔬 Science Pranks!! – learn about science while performing fun and hilarious pranks from the number one bestselling science author for kids, Dr Chris Ferrie.
🐢 The Hatchery – a rare glimpse of turtles hatching in incubation chambers and their first foray into an ocean environment in specially designed seawater tanks.
🎡 Curiocity Brisbane School Tours – an insightful and fascinating tour around South Bank Parklands visiting an interactive public art trail that encapsulates the nexus of art, science and technology.

Schools can further extend their World Science Festival Brisbane excursion with activities and exhibitions at Queensland Museum, including live snake feeding, a visit to SparkLab Sciencentre or the roarsome Dinosaurs of Patagonia.

Our industry leading 2023 School Program is grounded in national curriculum and supports a culture of lifelong learning, providing a fun but informative environment outside the classroom helps to reinforce what students are learning at school.

We appreciate excursions take precious time to organise. The 2023 School Program is designed to provide timely, informative and affordable learning opportunities for students to engage with STEM.
