The XR Screen Futures Hub makes the impossible possible. Pushing the boundaries of XR technology, it provides world-class expertise and creates experiences beyond imagining.
The group is a creative solutions research partner, leading collaborative research through the nexus of immersive media creation, extended realities, 3D digital scanning, digital screen content creation and creativity as it relates to media and entertainment, cultural preservation, education, science, health and many other industries.
Attendees will be provided with a presentation of recent research collaborations led by XRSF Hub researchers including a peek behind the scenes of several recent projects. The presentation will also include a live demonstration of motion capture in our state-of-the-art virtual production studio The Block, and a chance to try out in-camera visual effects, followed by a tour of the R&D photogrammetry space, the Scan Cave.

There will be a one-hour presentation including live demos in our virtual production studio The Block, then a chance for attendees to get involved in trying out in-camera visual effects, and/or visit the Scan Cave in small groups.
The tours are suitable for all ages but ages 12 and up recommended due to technical nature of some content.
There is limited on-street, short term (2-4 hours) parking near The Block facility. Several bus routes stop at QUT.
The Block and Scan Cave are wheelchair accessible.
Please note that presentations are visual and may include low, high, and strobe lighting effects.
Noise levels are expected to be within normal day-to-day ranges.
