Paul Burton

Paul is an urban planning academic who moved to Australia from the UK in 2007 to work at Griffith University where he is now Director of the Cities Research Institute. With a long-standing interest in how we can help people participate more effectively in urban planning, Paul works mainly with local and state governments trying to improve their participatory practices. He believes that well-planned cities hold the key to our sustainable future. If you had been looking carefully you might have seen Paul waving his light sabre at the closing ceremony of the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.
