Margaret Sheil AO FAA FTSE

Margaret Sheil AO is the Vice-Chancellor and President of QUT and Chair of the Queensland Museum Network. As a professor of chemistry, Margaret has held senior academic leadership positions at The University of Melbourne and University of Wollongong.

Margaret was made an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in 2017 for her distinguished service to science and higher education as an academic and administrator.

A self-confessed and highly-recognised, but fashionable, nerd, Margaret is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science (FAA), the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering (FTSE), the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (FRACI), and the Australian and New Zealand Society for Mass Spectrometry (FANZSM). She is a member of the Advisory Board of the Australian Space Agency, former CEO of the Australian Research Council and has been a Director/Member of many other science and research boards and organisations.
