Glenn King

After academic stints in Australia and the USA, Glenn joined the Institute for Molecular Bioscience at the University of Queensland in 2007. Glenn is a pioneer in the field of venoms-based drug and insecticide discovery. His early work on venoms lead to him to found an agricultural biotechnology company (Vestaron Corporation, USA) that has developed bee-safe, eco-friendly bioinsecticides.

More recently, Glenn co-founded the Australia  biotech company Infensa Bioscience, which is developing a venom-derived drug for treating stroke and heart attack. Glenn’s laboratory maintains the largest collection of venoms in the world, sourced from more than 500 species of venomous animals.
