Andy Howe

Andy is an insect ecologist working with applied ecology across biocontrol in eucalypt forestry, invasive species, and insect-plant-human interactions in urban green spaces. He has worked on numerous citizen science projects and enjoys engaging kids in insect ecology and nature stewardship.

Andy is the Queensland school liaison and ecology lead for the Insect Investigators project led by Dr Erinn Fagan-Jeffries (University of Adelaide). In 2022, Insect Investigators is engaging schools in the discovery of Australian insects and the taxonomic process which underpins efforts to conserve Australia’s insects.

Andy is based at the University of the Sunshine Coast, Forest Industries Research Centre.
