Dr Alice Clement (Flinders University) is an evolutionary biologist and palaeontologist, most interested in early vertebrates (fish and the first terrestrial vertebrates). Her work relies on modern scanning and imaging techniques to uncover changes that occurred over deep geological time. Her research centres around the origins of terrestriality and early brain evolution (palaeoneurology).
Dr Clement has won several awards including the E. S. Hills medal (Geological Society of Australia, 2021) and Young Tall Poppy award (AIPS, 2020). Additionally, Dr Clement is lead of VAMP, the Virtual Australian Museum of Palaeontology, and serves as Programme Secretary for the Royal Society of South Australia.
