Dr Zeynep Akcay is an animated filmmaker and scholar focusing on narrative strategies of animation in different environments. She currently teaches animation at Griffith Film School. Akcay’s animations have been screened internationally in Australia, the United State, Asia, Europe and in her native Turkey. She is also the animator and producer in “Anytown – Garage Sale Monsters”, an independent game project that has been awarded by Screen Queensland Game Development Grant in 2019.

Dr Nicola Hooper is an artist/illustrator whose studio works incorporate drawing and lithography. She has researched and created work under the title of ‘Zoonoses’ for a number of years. Her work has been exhibited extensively and she has been the recipient of several awards. She is passionate about researching and retelling Queensland stories. Her most recent project involved illustrating a children’s book through the State Library of Queensland ‘Stories for Little Queenslanders’ project.
