Queensland Museum

‘To be a valued and trusted museum network that creates authentic and compelling experiences, connects real objects and contemporary research with communities and tells stories that inspire, enrich and empower’ Queensland Museum Network Vision.

Queensland Museum Network is an iconic and vibrant network of museums that inspire generations to discover and celebrate our unique natural and cultural heritage. At our heart is an extraordinary collection of more than 1.2 million specimens and objects that document and tell Queensland’s story.

Queensland Museum Network holds exclusive licence to host World Science Festival in the Asia Pacific – the only global extension of this initiative, and World Science Festival Brisbane has attracted over 830,000 attendances since first launching in 2016.

The festival provides Queensland Museum Network an opportunity to engage audiences outside the traditional education sphere, and promote a whole of life “entanglement” with STEM – delivering on our mission of creating authentic and compelling experiences and stories that inspire, enrich and empower.

World Science Festival Brisbane reinforces Queensland’s position as a knowledge economy and ignites new and challenging discussions about Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) so that more and more people experience the value, impacts and wonder of science.

The festival is delivered to regional Queensland throughout the calendar year under the banner of World Science Festival Queensland.

World Science Festival Brisbane is presented with generous support from Our Partners.
