Welcome to Curiocity Brisbane 2022

In March this year Queensland Museum Network was excited to be delivering Curiocity Brisbane for the first time as a key pillar of World Science Festival Brisbane 2022.

Our beautiful city was ready to showcase artistic installations, workshops and talks celebrating the intersection of art and science. Unfortunately, nature had other plans and World Science Festival Brisbane was forced to quickly change gears due to the impacts of flooding.

World Science Festival Brisbane and Curiocity Brisbane are fascinating extensions of art and science, where new possibilities play and big ideas collide.  Brisbane’s Cultural Precinct is the perfect home for this celebration, and we are thrilled to bring Curiocity Brisbane 2022 to life for 17 inspiring days from 24 June to 10 July.

I encourage people of all ages to experience the Curiocity Brisbane 2022 artworks and programming while enjoying the reinvigorated Cultural Precinct. There is so much to see and do in Queensland this winter and we are delighted to partner with Tourism and Events Queensland to deliver Curiocity Brisbane as a key highlight of World Science Festival Brisbane and an exciting feature of the It’s Live! In Queensland calendar of events.

Queensland Museum Network is proud to inspire our next generation of scientists, innovators and creative thinkers.  I invite you to enjoy the diverse offering of remarkable artistic works, conversations and workshops that make up Curiocity Brisbane 2022.

The 5km Curiocity Brisbane 2022 trail will take visitors through some of our city’s most iconic places – South Bank Parklands, the Cultural Precinct, City Botanic Gardens and the City Centre. These beautiful public spaces span the Brisbane River to form the very heart of our city. After a challenging start to 2022, I’m proud to see these venues brimming with colour, atmosphere and activity once again.

Brisbane is a thriving innovation hub and contemporary city, offering visitors vibrant cultural experiences like Curiocity Brisbane 2022. I am thrilled to see this important component of the World Science Festival Brisbane come to life in 2022.
