Tasha Stanton

Tasha Stanton is a Clinical Pain Neuroscientist from the University of South Australia, interested in novel methods to understand why we hurt and why (sometimes) pain doesn’t go away. She uses mediated and virtual reality to explore how sensory input (like vision) influences how our body feels including how much pain we have. She also researches how our knowledge about pain can impact pain itself. Dr Stanton has published >65 peer-reviewed papers, received >$3.4m in research funding, and been a keynote speaker at >50 conferences. She received the ABC RN Top 5 under 40 Research Communicator award in 2016.
