Peter Ellerton

Peter Ellerton is the founding Director of the University of Queensland Critical Thinking Project (UQCTP) and a Lecturer in Critical Thinking. His research focuses on understanding and teaching critical thinking with a particular focus on developing teacher pedagogical expertise.
He is a consultant to the International Baccalaureate Organization and the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority for the design and implementation of curricula, including science and philosophy, and is a former Head of Experimental Science at the Queensland Academy for Science, Mathematics and Technology. Peter has appeared on Radio National’s Philosopher’s Zone, Ockham’s Razor and has delivered a TEDx Brisbane talk on critical thinking. He also won the Australian Skeptics prize for critical thinking for his work in providing teachers with critical thinking resources. Peter also writes regularly for The Conversation website.
