Patrick Hetherman

Patrick Hetherman was educated at Salvatorian College Grammar School in London, before joining the Royal Navy Electrical branch in 1953.

Specialising in aviation electronics, he rose through the ranks before being selected for advanced training and qualifying at an elite level. Patrick left the Navy in June 1966 after being recruited by AWA Technology Services to come to Australia and join the Cooby Creek Space Tracking Station in the sphere of Telemetry and Command. There he worked as a Synchronous Controller in operations involving the flight control of spacecraft.

After leaving Cooby Creek, Patrick joined Channel 10 TV in Sydney as an engineer. His sea change led into marketing and studies at the University of Queensland and the University and University of San Hose, California.
