Michael Milford

Associate Professor Michael Milford is a leading robotics researcher conducting interdisciplinary research at the boundary between robotics and neuroscience, and a multi-award winning educational entrepreneur. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Queensland University of Technology, Australian Research Council Future Fellow, Microsoft Research Faculty Fellow and Chief Investigator on the Australian Centre for Robotic Vision. 

As an educational entrepreneur, Michael has written innovative school textbooks over the last 15 years, with more than 6000 physical sales and online views in excess of 1.5 million. He recently launched the company Math Thrills (MathThrills.com), an initiative combining mass market entertainment and STEM education. Math Thrills received pre-seed funding on Kickstarter, seed funding from QUT Bluebox, an AMP Tomorrow Fund award and is in school trials. This initiative has received multiple national and state awards including the 2015 Queensland Young Tall Poppy of the Year Award.
