Justin Marshall

Justin Marshall is the founding director of the citizen-science project Coral Watch, a public awareness and participation group that aims to save the Great Barrier Reef. He is an enthusiastic translator of science and has been a consultant for various documentary makers including National Geographic, BBC Blue-chip documentaries, and most notably with Sir David Attenborough on several adventures including the recent Great Barrier Reef documentary series as science consultant. He also leads the Sensory Neurobiology Group at the Queensland Brain Institute, University of Queensland, specialising in neuro-ecology. As an Australian Research Council Laureate Fellow, Justin is an expert in understanding the visual system of marine animals including the amazing mantis shrimp, resplendent reef-fish and the curious cephalopods.
