Jeff Aniba-Waia

Jeff Aniba-Waia is a Knowledge Custodian and Choreographer of clan groups Ait Koedal and Dhoeybaw of Saibai Island, and a senior member of dance troupes, Ariw Peonipan and Muyngu Koekaper which have toured successfully overseas. In 2018 he co-created and performed in the theatrical work, Woer Wayepa – The water is rising, for Cairns Indigenous Art Fair, bridging cultural knowledge to the science of climate change. Jeff worked as teacher within Education Queensland for the past 26 years where he was a passionate advocate and teacher of language at Tagai State College.
