Daniel Price

Danny C. Price is an astrophysicist, with a joint postdoctoral position between University of California Berkeley (USA) and Swinburne University of Technology (Australia). Danny is the Australian Project Scientist for Breakthrough Listen: a $100 M, 10-year initiative to search for intelligent life beyond Earth. Breakthrough Listen is the most comprehensive search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI) ever undertaken, and is using some of the world’s most powerful radio and optical telescopes to survey the nearest stars and galaxies for artificial signals.

Danny received his DPhil (PhD) in astrophysics from the University of Oxford in 2013, specializing in signal processing for radio astronomy. Before his current position, he worked as a research fellow at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, where he designed precision instrumentation for cosmology experiments at radio wavelengths. In 2017, he was elected to the International Academy of Astronautics SETI Permanent Committee.
