Damien Harkin

Damien Harkin is a Professor in the School of Biomedical Sciences at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and is Director of Ocular Cell Therapies at the Queensland Eye Institute (QEI). At QUT, Damien teaches techniques for the preservation and staining of tissue samples acquired for the purpose of diagnosing disease.

As a research scientist, Damien has published extensively on the uses of stem cells and biomaterials for the treatment of eye diseases and is currently developing novel therapies for the management of age-related macular degeneration.
