Chelsea Huang

Dr Huang is an astrophysicist who specializes in discovering and characterizing planets around other stars. She obtained her PhD at Princeton University and worked at University of Toronto and MIT as a postdoc researcher. She developed the Quick Look Pipeline for NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite. The team she led at MIT discovered thousands of planets, including the first planet found by TESS, a super-Earth (planet with size slightly larger than Earth) around a naked-eye star. Currently, she and her team of students at University of Southern Queensland are focused on studying planetary systems with an architecture similar to the Solar system.
