Cathy ter Bogt is Queensland Museum’s Senior Conservator – Objects. She received a Masters in Applied Science (Conservation of Cultural Materials) from the University of Canberra in 2003 after completing a Bachelor of Engineering (Materials) and Arts at Monash University, Melbourne. Cathy also has a Graduate Diploma in Cultural Heritage Management from Deakin University.
Before joining Queensland Museum in late 2011, Cathy worked as a Sculpture Conservator at the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, and then as the Senior Objects Conservator at the National Museum of Australia, Canberra. She also spent some time during her student days as an intern at the Royal British Columbia Museum, Victoria and the Vancouver Museum in Canada. Her areas of interest are modern synthetics, emergency management and educating anyone who will listen about the importance of preserving culture and heritage.
