Queensland Museum Collections and Research Centre, Hendra is Queensland Museum’s flagship location for collection storage and research. Located in Hendra the site is home to Queensland Museums collections relating to Biodiversity, Geosciences, Archaeology, Indigenous Cultures and Social History.
Wet Store Facility Tour
Visitors will enjoy a specially curated behind-the-scenes tour of Queensland Museum’s state-of-the art Wet Store Facility which houses spirit-preserved biological specimens and associated laboratories, along with the opportunity to view the various collections, offering a unique insight into the vast and diverse historical artefacts managed and maintained by the Queensland Museum.
Labs Unlocked is presented with support from Advance Queensland.
There will be a 45 minute tour including a Q&A session with a curator. This tour is open to children 10yrs and over (must be accompanied by an adult) and will not be suitable for younger children. Closed shoes required.
There is onsite and street parking available. The Collections and Research Centre is located on the 301 bus route. The address is 122 Gerler Road, Hendra.
There are ramps onsite for wheelchair accessibility, although some areas may only be accessible by stairs, depending on the tour route.
