Traceylee Forester

Traceylee is a Traditional Owner of Northern Queensland. She is from the Lama Lama Clan of Cape York and also the Nywaigi Clan located near Ingham.

She has spent the majority of her working life assisting Indigenous People with the management of their land and sea countries, advocating and helping to empower the voice of our first nation’s people.

She is currently working with the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) as their first Indigenous Partnerships Coordinator. She is assisting in building partnerships between AIMS and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples of Northern Australia, particularly in regards to the collaboration of Western Science and Traditional Owner Science/Knowledge.

Traceylee is a consortium member of the Reef 2050 Traditional Owners Aspirations Project, the Queensland representative on the Indigenous Reference Group of the FRDC and member of the Traditional Owner Working Group of the Great Barrier Reef Foundation.
