Sophie Lewis

Sophie Lewis is a Senior Lecturer at the University of New South Wales, Canberra. She researches the role of human influences in recent extreme climate events in Australia such as heat waves, floods and bushfires. Her research is essential for understanding the vulnerability of human and natural systems to potential future changes in climate and weather extremes. She is currently serving as a Lead Author on the IPCC’s 6th Assessment Report and is a Domain Editor of WIREs Climate Change. Dr Lewis is the current ACT Scientist of the Year.
