Paul Bertsch is the current interim Queensland Chief Scientist where he provides high-level advice to government on the role of science and research to meet Queensland’s challenges. He is also the Science Director of the Land and Water Business Unit at CSIRO where he leads the science strategy for a team of approximately 650 scientists from across CSIRO working on the stewardship of land and water resources ecosystems and the built environment. Paul has over 30 years of experience in the fields of soil science hydrobiogeochemisty environmental geochemistry and environmental toxicology and significant international science leadership and policy experience.
