Michael Young

Mike Young holds a Research Chair in Energy Water and Environmental Policy at the University of Adelaide and was Founding Executive Director of its Environment Institute. A fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia and a Distinguished Fellow of the Australian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society, his research focuses on options to improve prospects for a profitable transition to a low-carbon economy. In 2013/14, he spent a year in the Australia Chair at Harvard University developing transformational policy reform guidelines. Before joining the University of Adelaide, Mike spent 30 years with CSIRO and 3 years with the OECD.
