Jonathan Peake completed a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education with Class I Honours at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. He then completed a PhD in Exercise Physiology at the University of Queensland. Since 2006, he has held academic positions at the University of Queensland and has been a lecturer at Queensland University of Technology since 2006. He teaches physiology and pathophysiology to students in biomedical sciences and nursing.
Jonathon’s research is focused on understanding recovery from exercise, with a particular emphasis on muscle damage and inflammation, and strategies such as cold water immersion, heating and sleep to promote recovery. He is a Research Affiliate at the Queensland Academy of Sport, and is currently setting up a personal business based on exercise recovery.
