Frank Gannon

Professor Frank Gannon is one of the world’s most respected molecular bioscience researchers. He became Director and CEO of Brisbane’s QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute in 2011, following his time as Director General at Science Foundation Ireland. He was also the Executive Director of the European Molecular Biology Organisation, the world’s leading life sciences academy. Professor Gannon was formerly also Director at the European Molecular Laboratory in Germany, which is the most successful research institute in Europe. Professor Gannon’s opinion is highly sought after, including his recommendations for winners of international scientific awards such as the Nobel Prize. Professor Gannon has widespread ties with the international scientific and business community and has a passion for scientific excellence.
