David Whiteman

David Whiteman is an epidemiologist, professor and public health physician with an international reputation for his research on cancer. His work focuses on how environmental and genetic factors interact to cause cancer, with the aim of applying this knowledge to the prevention and control of disease. He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences and the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine. He was awarded a Nuffield Fellowship to Oxford University in 1997, a Fulbright Scholarship in 2006, and was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2019 for his services to cancer research.
