David Iliffe

David Iliffe is the breakfast presenter at ABC Southern Queensland.

After growing up in a “broadcasting household” (his parents Jim and Melody were Queensland television identities in the sixties and seventies) the odds were heavily against David choosing any other profession.

Starting his radio career at 2BH in the far west NSW town of Broken Hill, he spent seven years in commercial radio working across the country until he decided to pursue his other love: writing.

David spent four and a half years working in newspapers in Wollongong, NSW. In December 2001, he joined the ranks of the national broadcaster, firstly in Launceston, Tasmania and, since 2006, with ABC Southern Queensland in Toowoomba.

In his spare time, David indulges his love of good movies with his wife Karen, coming up with creative ways to get his two sons off their screens with travel being the most successful method!
