David Chesworth

David Chesworth is an artist and composer who creates installations, video artworks, music and performances in a wide range of contexts. His music has been presented at Ars Electronica in Austria; the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Next Wave Festival in New York; and the Bang on a Can Marathon in New York.

David’s artwork collaborations with Sonia Leber have been exhibited internationally including the Biennale of Venice in 2015; and the Biennale of Sydney in 2014. ‘Architecture Makes Us’, a major solo exhibition of Sonia Leber and David Chesworth’s videoworks, is showing at Griffith University Art Museum in Brisbane, during March-April 2019.

David has composed four experimental operas; three for Chamber Made Opera (‘Recital’, ‘Lacuna’, and ‘The Two Executioners’); and ‘Cosmonaut’ for Opera Australia. ‘Richter/Meinhof-Opera’ was performed at Australian Centre for Contemporary Art and Art Gallery of New South Wales.
