Darryl Potter

Darryl Potter is Collection Manager for the Mollusc and Crustacean sections of the Queensland Museum (QM). With a Bachelors degree in biology from QUT, Darryl joined QM fulltime in 1982, and over the next 20 years participated in terrestrial and marine field surveys throughout Queensland and NSW. In 2002, Darryl completed a Masters in Environmental Science at Griffith University, fuelling an ongoing interest in biodiversity and conservation.

Darryl has written many popular articles, contributed to scientific texts and field guides, and is co-author of ‘Shells of Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef’. He is also one of four authors for ‘Australian Land Snails, Vol. 1: a field guide to eastern Australian species’ – published in 2010, and has co-authored descriptions for 16 new species of Australian land snails.
