Dale Nimmo

Dale Nimmo is an Associate Professor in Ecology at Charles Sturt University, with expertise in fire ecology, wildlife ecology, and ecological modelling. Dale completed his PhD in 2011 on the response of fauna to fire in south-eastern Australia. In 2015, Dale joined Charles Sturt University as a lecturer in ecology, and in 2016 was awarded an ARC DECRA on the role of Indigenous burning in biodiversity conservation. Dale has published >90 peer-reviewed papers and is committed to science communication, with 18 publication in The Conversation that have been read >1 million times. He is also a member of the federal government’s Expert Panel for wildlife and threatened species bushfire recovery.
