Claudia Vickers

Claudia Vickers holds dual roles as Director of CSIRO’s Synthetic Biology Future Science Platform and Group Leader at the University of Queensland’s Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology. Her research focuses on synthetic biology and metabolic engineering for production of bio-based alternatives to petrochemicals. The CSIRO SynBioFSP program aims to expand Australia’s synthetic biology capability and developing a synthetic biology-based industry. Claudia was founding President of the professional society Synthetic Biology Australia and served on the expert working groups for the ACOLA Australian national synthetic biology roadmap and the Australian government NCRIS Synthetic Biology Infrastructure Investment Plan.
