Summary

Ponder the practical and legal minefields of extra-terrestrial exploration

As humanity ponders the viability of interplanetary settlement, the scale of near-Earth commercial and scientific endeavours is set to increase dramatically. From asteroid mining to space tourism, the sky is no longer the limit.

Science journalist and ABC Broadcaster Robyn Williams will lead our space specialists, from NASA scientists to archaeologists, in examining current and near-future operations in space and exploring the socio-legal challenges of who will control the final frontier.

This inspiring special event will include a presentation of the 2018 Queensland Women in STEM Prize: a national competition recognising pioneering women in the fields of science, technology, engineering and maths.
