For the first time in Gladstone, Pioneers in Science will provide high school students the rare opportunity to interview a renowned scientist live on stage.
Meet Adele Green, Senior Scientist at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute. Professor Green studies one of Australia’s most pressing and widespread health issues: skin cancer. Her landmark 20-year study into the regular use of sunscreen proved its effectiveness as an early intervention to decrease melanoma – a breakthrough in cancer research.
In this conversation-style event, ABC Capricornia’s Jacquie Mackay will invite pre-selected students from the audience to ask their own questions of Professor Green live on stage.
Following Pioneers in Science, students will explore the interactive science extravaganza that is STREET SCIENCE! Featuring hands-on activities, interactive exhibits and mind-bending experiments, students will taste the pure fun of science.
