Please note:

World Science Festival Brisbane and World Science Festival Queensland 2020 events have been cancelled.

Latest closure update

Queensland Museum Network is closely monitoring the coronavirus (COVID19) situation and the health and safety of our visitors, partners, staff and the wider community is our key priority.

These are unprecedented times, and following recent advice from the Prime Minister on mass gatherings, Queensland Museum Network has cancelled World Science Festival Brisbane 2020 (25-29 March) and some of the remaining World Science Festival Queensland events.

COVID19 situation has impacted our partners, participants and our ability to bring the best possible programming from across the globe. We make this decision with a heavy heart but in the best interests of our visitors, staff, volunteers, suppliers and participants.

We thank everyone for their support to date, recognising that some of our partners and participants have already been impacted by the current global situation.

Cancelled Brisbane events include:

  • All World Science Festival ticketed events in Brisbane
  • City of Science free public 4 day event
  • All schools programs
  • The Turtle Hatchery

Other cancelled World Science Festival Queensland events include:

  • World Science Festival Queensland in Gladstone 20-21 March
  • World Science Festival Queensland in Toowoomba 18-20 April
  • World Science Festival Queensland in Townsville 15-16 May
  • World Science Festival Queensland in Ipswich 28 November

For updates on Queensland Museum Network public programs including school holiday activities stay connected with us on QMN social media channels and our website.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused but look forward to welcoming you back in March 2021.
