Getting to The Workshops Rail Museum

The Workshops Rail Museum is located at North Street, North Ipswich

  • Public Transport

    Train – Queensland Rail operates regular services from Brisbane’s Central station and Roma Street stations to Ipswich.

    Bus – Transfer to Westside Bus Company route 515 at Ipswich station from Stop B in Bell Street to the museum.

  • On Foot

    The Workshops Rail Museum is located at North Street, North Ipswich, about a half hour walk from the CBD.

  • By Car

    Free parking is available onsite.

  • Individual Needs

    Please give us a call on (07) 3432 5100 if you require assistance, or let us know when you arrive.

    We have a set down area at the front of the museum which is wheelchair accessible, disabled toilets and exhibition areas are accessed via gentle sloping ramps or are at ground level.

    We recognise the Queensland Government’s Companion Card program, and admit carers free on presentation of appropriate identification.

  • When is the Festival on?

    The school holiday program is in April 2022.

    A student day is on Friday 11 August 2022 and events for the general public are on Saturday 12 August 2023.

  • Where is the Festival held?

    All Ipswich events are held at The Workshops Rail Museum, North Street, North Ipswich.

  • Is it free?

    The school holiday program is included with the general museum entry admission charge. Details are here.

    The activities on the student day are free for school students, but bookings are required.
