Queensland Museum

Make the most of your students World Science Festival Brisbane experience and learn about the endlessly fascinating world of spiders.

These are some of the most formidable and often feared creatures in Australia. However, they are also essential survivors in our ecosystem.

This exhibition will explore all aspects of a spider’s life – from diet to jaws and venom, how they grow and reproduce and adapt to different habitats.

Students will be able to see 12 live spider species and 200 spider specimens including the infamous Sydney Funnel Web, Trapdoor, Huntsman, Redback, and Tarantula spiders.

In this rare opportunity, you’ll see creatures of the crawling kind up close from the comfort of the exhibition floor.
