The World Science Festival Brisbane’s Pioneers in Science program gives high school students from around the globe rare and intimate access to some of the world’s most renowned scientists. Meet Ove Hoegh-Guldberg, the inaugural Director of the Global Change Institute and Deputy Director of the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies.
Ove Hoegh-Guldberg is a Professor of Marine Science at The University of Queensland who studies the effects of global warming and ocean acidification on coral reefs, and is a pioneer in examining the biological, economic and social effects of coral bleaching. Ove undertakes game-changing research to find collaborative, high-impact solutions to address several of the most pressing and serious challenges facing humanity worldwide, such as climate change, food security, clean energy and population growth.

Submissions are now open for students to submit their questions to Ove, using the online form before Monday, 18 February 2019. You will be contacted via email if your question is chosen for presenting during the live show.
