PARTICLE/WAVE is an immersive multimedia celebration of the discovery of gravitational waves that combines poetry, video art, live music and science.
Discovered in 2017, gravitational waves are ripples in space-time, travelling away from exploding stars, merging black holes or other universal phenomena. Cosmologist Stephen Hawking said, ‘Gravitational waves provide a completely new way of looking at the universe.’
A mind-expanding collaboration of artists and internationally renowned scientists, Particle/Wave offers a lens into this incredible discovery. Following a sell-out season at the Melbourne Festival 2018, Particle/Wave will look deep into the universe under the spectacular dome of the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium.
“It’s a show that’s at once spectacular and intimate, bringing home the confounding mysteries of the universe”
Alison Croggon – Witness Performance
