The ‘Art’ of a Field Botanist
27 March 2021
AUDITORIUM LAWN, BRISBANE BOTANIC GARDENS MT COOT-THA

Summary

Field botanists are a special breed of scientist – part plant hunter, part explorer, with a dabbling of artist, they’re a bit like the Indiana Jones of the botanical world.

Join us as we go ‘botanizing’ in the footsteps of Sir Joseph Banks, Daniel Solander and Sydney Parkinson – press and dry your own plant specimen to take home, write botanical descriptions and sketch your own botanical drawings, just like they did back in 1770 as they travelled up the east coast of Australia in the Endeavour.
