Science Unplugged: Big Data, Spinning Things and Pain Perception (2020)

NO VENUE ASSIGNED

Summary

The formula for science unplugged is pretty simple. Take three of the brightest minds at the World Science Festival Brisbane, and give them a stage for 20 minutes each to share their love of science and the passion of their project. Throw in some Q & A, and deliver to an audience full of curiosity.

In this session you’ll hear from Kerrie Mengersen, a Professor of Statistics about using big data for social good; physicist Hugh Hunt will look at the common threads that link all spinning things and pain researcher Tasha Stanton will talk about how using virtual reality can impact the pain we feel.
