Getting to Queensland Museum

The following information is to assist you in getting to and from Queensland Museum and the Cultural Precinct. Should you require information on travelling on public transport to and from others venues call TransLink on 13 12 30 or visit TransLink.

  • Bus

    If catching a bus to Queensland Museum the closest bus stop is Cultural Centre Busway Station. For more information on travelling via bus call TransLink on 13 12 30 or visit TransLink.

  • Train

    If catching a train to Queensland Museum the closest station is South Brisbane Station, opposite QPAC on Grey Street. For more information on travelling via train call TransLink on 13 12 30 or visit TransLink.

  • City Cat/Ferry

    If travelling to Queensland Museum via citycat or ferry the closest terminal is South Bank Ferry Terminal in South Bank Parklands. For more information on travelling via citycat/ferry call TransLink on 13 12 30 or visit TransLink.

  • Road closures

    From mid-July 2022 until 2024, road directions and access around the Cultural Centre will change.

    Access to the Museum and Art Gallery car park (P2) from the south will be via Montague Road and proceeding through Stanley Place. Access from the north will remain unchanged with turning left after the William Jolly Bridge. Reduced speed limits will apply in these areas. We recommend familiarising yourself with the changes to help plan your visit.

    The Cultural Centre bus stop and South Brisbane train station will continue to operate with directional signage for pedestrians.

  • Taxi/Ride Share

    Taxi/ride share set-down and pick-up areas are on either the Grey Street side of QPAC or Stanley Place outside of State Library of Queensland.

  • Parking

    Car parking is available throughout the Cultural Precinct at:

    • Art Gallery/Museum Carpark: enter from Stanley Place
    • State Library of Queensland Carpark: enter from Stanley Place
    • Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre: enter from Merivale Street or Grey Street
    • South Bank Parklands Carpark: enter from Tribune or Glenelg Street.
