Laura Tyler

After starting her career in the British civil engineering industry, Laura Tyler moved into mining in 1994 and has since worked across three continents in operations spanning civil engineering, open pit mining and underground mining.

Laura joined BHP Billiton in 2004 and was appointed Chief of Staff to the CEO in 2015. This role was made a member of the Executive Leadership Team in 2016. Prior to this, Laura was Asset President of the Cannington Mine and other roles with BHP Billiton have included technical and operational roles at the EKATI Diamond Mine in Canada and corporate HSEC in London. Prior to joining BHP Billiton, Laura worked for Western Mining Corporation, Newcrest Mining and Mount Isa Mines in various technical and operational roles.

Now in the Office of the CEO at BHP Billiton, Laura draws on two decades of experience running company assets to work with senior executives on delivery of the company’s strategic plan.
