Jennifer Martin

Professor Martin is the newly appointed Director of the Eskitis Institute at Griffith University and a recent ARC Laureate Fellow at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience, University of Queensland. Her research expertise and interests lie in the areas of structural biology, protein crystallography, protein interactions and their applications in drug design and discovery.

Martin is a strong advocate for gender equity in academia. Her commentaries on this topic have been published in leading international journals including Nature and her blog focusing on women in academia has been featured in Science Careers, Nature and The Times Higher Ed Magazine and was chosen for archive by the National Library. Martin was a founding member of the Science in Australia Gender Equity (SAGE) Steering Committee, that is currently implementing a pilot of the UK Athena SWAN gender equity system in Australian academic institutions.
