Ian Gardner

Ian Gardner is a Director of Ove Arup & Partners Ltd, has global business leadership responsibilities and is a Board Member of the firm’s UK, Middle-East & Africa Region. He is a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and Member of the Institution of Royal Engineers. London based, he leads activities across the breadth of the firm’s Energy business. Author of the book ‘Achieving Successful Construction Projects – A guide for industry leaders and programme managers’.

Ian joined Arup in August 1976, having graduated with a 1st class honours in Civil Engineering from Imperial College and has been involved in many award-winning projects. He worked in Sydney in 1984/85. He co-founded the firm’s Berlin office in 1993; formed and led the firm’s successful Infrastructure London Group undertaking projects such as CTRL (HS1), London Olympic Park, Msheireb Doha and studies of Dutch stations regeneration and Antwerp’s motorway network.
