Caroline Riot

Caroline Riot is a Senior Lecturer and Director of Engagement with the Griffith Business School, Department of Tourism, Sport and Hotel Management, Griffith University. Dr Riot’s career in high-performance sport started in 2001 when she was awarded an International Olympic Committee grant for research across 8 countries and 3 continents. She is an experienced and passionate researcher focused on elite sport systems, athlete personal development and performance, and talent transfer.

In the lead up to the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, Dr Riot is leading two legacy projects targeting women’s sport development, and co-leading a Commonwealth Games Federation project on intensive high-performance sport programs for Oceania athletes. This remarkable project is advancing athlete support systems and optimising development, transition, and performance of Oceania athletes. Dr Riot’s nationally recognised work has been published widely and has attracted invited presentations at international and national conferences.
