Where humans have gone, rubbish has followed; now we have created a large mass of debris throughout space over the relatively short history of humans venturing there. The collection ranges from variously sized pieces of metal and disused machinery to large ghost satellites beyond their use-by dates.
Whether on our moon, other planets or travelling in endless circles around Earth, this so-called space junk has become a major environmental and safety problem for humanity’s ongoing activities beyond our planet. Our panel of space junkies will examine the current state of this outerspace ‘tip’ and future strategies for limiting our adverse impact on space into the future.
